Research to Practice (RTP) Initiative
Several NARST committees are currently working together on an initiative to better connect research to practice. Some ideas are to develop brief summaries of current research to share with classroom teachers, and to sponsor a booth at the upcoming NSTA conference in Boston.
Coming in the future ... RTPs (Research to Practice) briefs in the form of e-publications to be posted here at this site. We anticipate that these will include some combination of podcasts, blogs, wikis, and pdf files.
We are eliciting ideas from the NARST membership regarding how we can communicate our research on science education to K-20 classroom teachers, as well as to informal learning centers.
Please email your suggestions to Troy Sadler and Steve Norris, Co-Chairs of the NARST Research Committee, or Jan van Driel, Chair of the NARST Publications Advisory Committee.
