This hour-long webinar was organised and hosted by the members of the NARST Graduate Student Forum 2020-2021 Subcommittee. It was organised as part of a series of virtual professional learning meetings in keeping with the Committee’s commitment to supporting the graduate student community.
Dr Stefanie Marshall, Dr Sara Wilmes and Dr Terrell Morton were the presenters for this webinar. Dr Stefanie Marshall is an Assistant Professor of STEM education in Curriculum & Instruction in the College of Education and Human Development at the University of Minnesota- Twin Cities. Dr Sara Wilmes is a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute of Applied Educational Sciences of the Research Unit on Education, Culture, Cognition and Society of the Faculty of Language and Literature, Humanities, Arts and Education at the University of Luxembourg. And, Dr Terrell R. Morton is an Assistant Professor of Identity and Justice in STEM Education at the University of Missouri-Columbia, where he works in the Learning, Teaching, and Curriculum Department of the College of Education.
The presenters spoke on the following subjects:1) Preparing a dissertation proposal, 2) Communicating with your advisor and committee, 3) Managing your time, 4) Staying motivated, and 5) Defending your Thesis.
