April 7-10, 2021 NARST, by necessity, held its first virtual conference. On one hand, the 2021 virtual conference was less than the ideal of an in-person conference; on the other, it provided a space for individuals to come together, to share their work and to engage. Thanks to the work of many, the 2021 virtual conference resulted in some positive outcomes.

Like many of you, I have watched the video of George Floyd, an unarmed Black man, of Minnesota dying under the knee of a White man entrusted by the public to protect life demonstrate what the Minnesota prosecutor called “a conscious disregard” of it.
