It is a great honor to be nominated as a candidate of the NARST Board of Directors. I have been a member of NARST since 1999, when I presented my very first science education paper in that year’s conference. As an international member, I have made every effort to obtain funding and arrange coursework to attend annual conferences simply because I cherish such a unique opportunity to “recharge” my professional knowledge. NARST is a long-established and prestigious organization in the field of science education research, attracting many researchers from all over the world to work together for the goal of helping all learners achieve scientific literacy. As part of a professional community, its members should also be considered lifelong learners who need learning opportunities and community support. My vision for NARST is that we work together as a community of practice to advance research and practices of science education at all levels around the world. I am currently serving as the president of the Association of Science Education in Taiwan (ASET) and a member of the NARST Membership Committee. I will dedicate myself to both organizations working for the common interests and needs of their members.
